Organ donation is the withdrawal and donation of human organs, organ parts or human flesh for the purpose of implantation in other people. A consent given extends to harvesting and donation of the organ(s)
Whoever makes an organ donation declaration can, with the harvesting of organs pursuant to §3 of the Transplantationgesetz (the transportaion law), stipulate the need for consent from a named person. The declaration can be limited to particular organs. Those over 14 years of age may decide to donate and those over 16 may designate someone to give consent on their behalf.
