Michael Becker was born in 1954 and is happily married and has three grown-up children. He went to school in East-Belgium and subsequently studied law at both the Philipps-Universität Marburg and the Julius-Maximilian-Universität Würzburg. After student exchange in The Hague and Thessalonica along with a four month internship in San Francisco he undertook the first state exam in 1978.
